Year 6 Dunsop

Welcome to our class page!

In Year Six, we are taught by Miss Beresford and helped by Mrs. Williams and Miss Douglas.  This is an important year as we take our SATs and make sure we are ready for our transition to High School.

Year Six means additional responsibility.  We are House Captains, Leaders, Monitors, Chaplains and Buddies.  We set the best possible example for the younger children in our school.

At the beginning of Year Six, we visit France and Belgium on a Remembrance Residential.  During our time away from home, we visit important sites from WW1, pay our respects at several war cemeteries and take part in The Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.  In addition, we have time to do a spot of shopping in Bruges (we love the waffles and ice cream!) and enjoy a day on the beach.  It's a truly special trip which we look forward to throughout our time in school.

Homework is set each week - on paper and online.  It is sent home on a Tuesday, to be returned the following week.  Seesaw is used for our online homework and is an excellent tool for sharing messages and examples of good work to our parents.  PE is on Tuesdays and Fridays.

In the summer term, Year Six (with the support of Year Five) star in the end of year production, which is the perfect time for us to showcase our speaking and listening skills, our acting, our design skills and our musical knowledge.

Year Six is busy - but we work hard, play hard and enjoy our final year of primary school after seven incredible years at Wilf's.
