PE and Sport Premium Funding
Schools receive PE and sport premium funding from the government based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6.
At St Wilfrid’s we use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer. This means we use the PE and Sport Premium to:
- develop or add to the PE and sport activities that we already offer
- make improvements to PE and sport now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
- commit to quality CPD for our teachers each year to ensure improvements are sustainable
The impact of this funding can usually be seen by our school maintaining its School Games Silver Mark and the high levels of children achieving age related expectations in PE by the end of the academic year. It is also evident by the amount of extra-curricular clubs we run and inter-school competitions we enter.
As a condition of the PE and sport premium grant all primary schools must publish a report, showing how they have spent their PE and sport premium funding allocation and the impact it has had, on the school’s website. Our submissions are attached in order for our school to meet this requirement.
