RE Inspection Report

As a Roman Catholic School we are inspected by our Diocese, Salford, separately to our Ofsted school inspection. Our last Section 48 RE Inspection was in March 2019.

St Wilfrid’s remains a good Catholic school and we are pleased that the inspectors state St Wilfrid’s RC Primary school is an effective Catholic school with outstanding provision in Welcome and Welfare. As soon as one enters the school there is a sense of belonging which is valued highly by parents and enjoyed by the children as they feel safe, well cared for and happy at school.

The inspectors have identified the key strengths of St Wilfrid’s to be;

  • The passionate and reflective leadership of the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Religious Education subject leader who have created a very warm and welcoming Catholic school that is valued by the families it serves.
  •  The positive attitudes of the children who engage so well together under the careful welfare of all adults.
  •  The high importance afforded to the Catholic Life of the school that is valued by the whole community.
  •  The strong sense of belonging and teamwork.

We feel the judgement of the inspectors is fair and accurate and all our staff team here at St Wilfrid’s will continue to work hard to deliver the agreed areas for improvement whilst continuing to give our children a great balance between a sound Catholic education and a fun and creative curriculum.
