Our Parish
Our school has very close links with the parish and St Wilfrid’s Church is situated just in front of the school, alongside the priest’s house at 44 Derby Road, Longridge, PR3 3JT.
Our Parish Priest is Father Anthony Dutton. Father Tony is a regular visitor to school, visiting each class to talk about the Gospel messages, carry out class masses and to speak to the staff and children.
The parish of St. Wilfrid’s was founded in 1867. Records indicate a School-Chapel in 1869 and the first School in 1871. In 1886 a new Church was built. A new porch and entrance, organ loft and steeple were added in 1908. In 1999 a new Parish Room, attached to the church, was built.
IN 2019 WE CELEBRATED THE MILESTONE OF 150 YEARS OF OUR SCHOOL AND PARISH!
In Year 3, we invite our children to take part on their Sacramental journey when they will make their First Confession and First Holy Communion. This year’s dates are as follows;

Children stop in school with Father (pick-up 4:15pm)
Celebration: Saturday 26th November 2022 5.30pm

Celebrate God’s Word
Children’s Meeting: Wednesday 1st February 2023 3.30pm
Children stop in school with Father (pick-up 4:15pm)
Celebration: Saturday 4th February 2023 5.30pm
All Sacramental children and their parents attend Mass at St Wilfrid’s Church
Reconciliation Second Week of Lent
Children’s Meeting: Wednesday 15th March 2023 3.30pm
Children stop in school with Father (pick-up 4:15pm)
Celebration: Saturday 18th March 2023 11.00am
All Sacramental children and their parents attend as children make their First Confessions in church on this Saturday.
First Holy Communion Corpus Christi
Children’s Meeting: Wednesday 7th June 2023 3.30pm
Plus Parent’s Meeting at 4.15pm
Children stop in school with Father until 4:15pm. They are then joined by their parents and Father will speak to all parents about First Holy Communion that Sunday.
Celebration: Sunday 11th June 2023 10.00am
All Sacramental children and their families attend as children make their First Holy Communion in church on this Sunday. This will be followed by a special Communion party for the children in the Parish Room.
