Following extensive training we use a nationally commissioned scheme to help us teach maths – Maths No Problem (MNP) in Year 1-6. This is a style of maths first taught in Singapore, but which has been adapted to meet the demands of England’s National Curriculum.

Every child can master an understanding and love of maths with the right kind of teaching and support. The MNP Programme is a complete suite of maths mastery resources which supports our pupils and enhances our practice with an ecosystem of award-winning textbooks and workbooks, teaching tools, in-depth assessment and professional development.

This school year we are also piloting the ‘Mastering Number’ scheme in Year 1 and Year 2 to further boost our mastery maths programme.

ASSESSMENT

We have adapted Lancashire County Council’s Key Learning Indicators of Performance (KLIPs) document to assess our maths, detailing our St Wilfrid’s non-negotiable KLIPs and elements for greater depth of understanding.
