Let’s Get Cooking

Our LET’s GET COOKING CLUB is a cookery school for junior children.
It is led by Mrs Pollard and Mrs Farmer.
Our cooker club;
  • runs healthy cooking sessions for young people. Sessions focus on cooking-related activities and promoting cookery skills with children, their families and the community, (most of which happens outside of normal school hours)
  • cooks good food that is good for you from basic ingredients, using mainly recipes provided by Let’s Get Cooking
  • introduces different children and families to Let’s Get Cooking activities each term
  • runs a minimum of 15 sessions per year, including at least three community events involving parents, family members, the wider school and local community
  • encourages club members to replicate the recipes and skills learnt through Let’s Get Cooking at home. Everyone who has made food in a club session is given a free copy of the recipe straight after they have prepared it
  • makes free copies of recipes available to people attending special or community events
  • givse club members as much responsibility as is appropriate and involves them in decisions about club activities as much as possible
  • ensures that no club member, (whether child, young person or adult), is excluded from attending club activities on the basis of cost.
  • follows appropriate health and safety, Criminal Records Bureau, (CRB), and financial procedures
  • allows its leaders to attend local Let’s Get Cooking training sessions, to help maintain and improve cooking demonstration skills
